Echo Park
Sonic Automotive - the fifth largest automotive retailer in the US - wanted to create a new dealership sub-brand that would redefine the future of car shopping. We named it Echo Park, and it injected cutting-edge technology, self-guided shopping, and transparency into the in-store and online experience to make it friendlier, more personal, and easier.

Role: User experience design, prototyping
Agency: Huge

The new Echo Park website made car buying more human and let you schedule a test drive in seconds. It also became your personal digital passport when you entered the dealership, connecting you to the cars you wanted to see - all without a sales person.

Imagine Bar

The centerpiece of each Echo Park is the Imagine Bar: an iPad-controlled immersive car shopping experience. It lets up to 3 customers simultaneously view life-size inventory on an 8' x 50' screen, bringing the lot inside the dealership.

To create a seamless experience from online to in-store, we created the Echo Park Remote app. Connect to your account and visit the dealership lot: when you're near a vehicle you've searched for, the app lets you know and shows the details.

Echo Park's first location was built in Denver, with more planned nearby. We worked directly with the architecture firm in charge of designing the store to create a unique and user-friendly space that included transparent service bays, kid-friendly waiting areas, and room to hold community education events.
